Sergeant Darren Burch (Retired Phoenix PD) is now the noted author of the crime book trilogy, Twisted But True. I knew Darren for most of my police career. In 2019, I was on-duty for the huge Phoenix Fan Fusion (I.e. PHX Comi-con…a really fun event to be part of). When I was walking around I unexpectedly came upon Darren at a book signing in the exhibit hall. We had a nice reunion. While I was standing beside him (I was in civilian clothes with a badge and a gun on my belt) he said he felt like the President of the United States with a Secret Service detail. That comment inspired this cartoon.
