The Douglas DC-3 is the most iconic aircraft in the history of the USA. The DC-3 first flew in 1935. More than 16,000 DC-3s have been built. It is estimated that 150 are still flying today. The DC-3 in this drawing was at an airshow at the Mesa Falcon Field in Mesa, AZ.
NOTE: The first airplane I ever flew in was a DC-3. I was five years old and was traveling with my mom from Minneapolis to Kansas City. My mom was seven months pregnant at the time. I fell in love with flying during that flight.
