Henry Cusson was one of my favorite bosses. He was my lieutenant when I was a Background Investigator in the Employment Services Bureau. At one point, Henry butted heads with upper management. As a result, Henry was transferred back to a 3rd shift patrol position…as a punishment. This was a hard pill to swallow for Henry because he was a senior lieutenant and typically only brand new lieutenants are assigned to 3rd shift patrol. But, Henry made the most of it and kept his sense of humor. He found out he was able to get a snooze and have a smoke during the quiet nights…
NOTE: As I make this post, Henry is still serving as a Reserve Police Officer with the rank of Commander. He has now been in uniform for 50 years. Henry had three sons, all of whom became police officers and police supervisors. (One son passed away unexpectedly from health problems.)
