My friend Rich DeGraw was in the middle of this…The City of Dallas faced a huge public safety challenge when a series of FIFA World Cup soccer matches were held there. Hundreds of thousands of citizens from the countries playing in the matches descended on Dallas during the month of July. Local law enforcement had finite resources with which to protect the event. But, there was good cooperation between the public and private sectors which allowed for safe month. The whole situation reminded me from the scene in JAWS…”We are going to need a bigger boat!”
