Detective CJ Wren and I attend the same church. I’ve been attending for over twenty years and he’s been attending for a year. Yet, when he comes to church, its like George Clooney showed up. He’s a celebrity. The reason for this is because for about 6 years CJ was the church’s “off-duty officer.” At Christmas and Easter the church would hire him to be in uniform and provide security when there were a lot of extra attendees at the church. Once CJ and his wife began attending, the congregation recognized him as their police officer. Instant celebrity status.
