In 2015 I tested for a sergeant’s position in the PPD Homeland Defense Bureau. I spent a lot of time preparing for the testing process. I even read the Homeland Security themed thesis written by Lieutenant Bill Wickers while he was attending the Naval Postgraduate School. I drew this for Bill to insinuate that reading his thesis had caused me to go blind. I had made the “ultimate sacrifice” to read his thesis and thus deserved a medal.
NOTE: I ended up obtaining the much coveted sergeant’s position at the Homeland Defense Bureau. I worked at the Homeland Defense Bureau for the remainder of my police career…six years. It was the best assignment I ever had on the Police Department.
