Dan Malone is a friend and former co-worker. Early in our careers we rode together in a patrol car on the mean streets of Maryvale (west Phoenix). Dan ended up being a motorcycle officer for rest of his police career. Every single motorcycle officer I have known has had to be rushed to the hospital, at one time or another, because of on-the-job motorcycle accidents. Dan has been in four accidents. I can picture his motorcycle telling war stories to the younger motorcycles.
NOTE: Dan and I retired from the police department at about thee same time. Dan loves it that his pension is $100 per month more than my pension! He needs that extra $100…he’s got a ton of grand kids.
