A bucket list item of mine has always been to ride in the annual RAGBRAI ride across Iowa. This is a well known, week long, ride from the Missouri River to the west and the Mississippi River to the east. Each year the west to east route changes. I finally got picked to be an official rider in this event. It turned out to be an unenjoyable experience for me. The daily temperatures were in the 100s and the humidity was high. Each day I had to ride 70 miles. It was miserable. I’ll never do it again.
