Rich DeGraw often refers to me as “the Sergeant General.” This refers to my police rank sergeant and the honorary rank general he bestows on me. Rich is a retired Commander from a large east coast police agency who is not in upper management with a company based in Phoenix. We became friends when he would represent his company at City of Phoenix Incident Management Team (IMT) planning meetings. I was a member of the IMT and learned very quickly that Rich was an important partner in planning large events in Phoenix. Rich has a great sense of humor. This is one of the reasons I draw cartoons featuring him.
