For the last 8 years retired Lieutenant Bill Schemers has been an elected councilman in the city of Clinton, Iowa. He has been fighting a lot of battles in city hall with his allie, the city manager. Unfortunately, city councilmen don’t make a lot of money in Clinton, Iowa. The standard joke between the two is Bill asking to be reminded of how much he makes.
NOTE: Bill was my boss four times during my police career. He was the perfect boss for me. When he retired I was worried about what supervisor I would hitch my wagon to. I still keep in touch with Bill and visit with him and Kelley in Iowa.
