Many years ago, two good friends of mine had a bit of a falling out. At that time, Detective Chris Abril (on the left) commented to Officer Tom Tardy (on the right) that some disciplinary issues with the police department that Tom was facing would be gone within “two days.” As it turned out, Detective Abril was incorrect. The disciplinary issues lingered on for several years. Tom never let Chris forget about his inaccurate forecast. Here, I have drawn Chris and Tom as General Grant and General Lee making a truce at Appomattox which ended the American Civil War. It is correct that Tom has been depicted at General Lee as Tom has become a Confederate sympathizer since moving to West Virginia.
