I drew this Christmas cartoon in 2019 for Sergeant Jeffry Tobey’s squad.
One thing about drawing squad cartoons is that I have to do some investigative work to be able to depict the various members of the squad, because I would rarely know them. That means I have to ask a lot of questions and take notes. Then I have to have a photo of them. Its a lot of work.
For this squad, the one thing that stands out is that one of the squad members was a retired NYPD police officers who was working for Phoenix as a 2nd career. I drew him in his NYPD uniform, which is very different that Phoenix PD uniforms. At NYPD, they wear their awards as ribbons above their badges. This guy had a lot of awards from NYPD.
