While assigned to the Phoenix Police Academy, the staff members would have to attend morning flag raising ceremonies…a formal event with marching, saluting, the national anthem, etc. Typically, it was announced what the uniform of the day would be. One morning I read the wrong memo and wore the wrong hat on the parade deck…Much to my embarrassment.
