All military generals have enlisted aides. Even though Rich is in management in the private sector, I often felt like myself and Detective Stephanie Laufer…on the police department…were his assistants when it came to planning large events or responding to critical incidents in the City of Phoenix. He’s a natural leader and having been a police commander, he comes by it honestly.
NOTE: Rich loved this cartoon. Stephanie (Now Sergeant Stephanie Frick) disliked the way I drew her. Before being promoted, Stephanie was the police department’s full-time FEMA trained “planner.” She lead and ruled large regional planning meetings with an iron fist. She had no problem telling police chiefs that they were getting off-topic. When Stephanie led meetings, you knew the meeting was going to be under 30 minutes and it would be very productive.
